Babies, Bombs, Boy Scouts… and the End of the World?

Some of you might have looked at the title of this and said, “uh oh, What’s he going to say about this?” Well Honestly these things have been on my mind a lot recently and here’s why:

Babies – With the recent trial of Kermit Gosnell looming over much of the conservative world, and the scandal to cover it up, I’ve recently watched two films on the atrocity of abortion.

The first is call 3801 Lancaster. It can be viewed on the groups website, I’m warning you now though that this video is not for the feint of heart. It shows the reality of abortion and the horrors that one man has committed. http://3801lancaster.com/

The second film is by well known evangelist and apologist Ray Comofort. It is called “180”. It compares the horror of abortion to the events of the holocaust. In it he states that since Roe Vs. Wade over 53 million babies have been killed. It can be viewed on Youtube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7y2KsU_dhwI

Why do I post these on my blog? I’ll explain that in a little bit.

Bombs – As I’m sure everyone is aware there were two bombs that went of near the finish line of the Boston Marathon. The ensuing manhunt and the capture of the second suspect all but entranced America. It’s hard to not hate the man responsible for this. But as Christians we are called to love our enemies. We are called to pray for their salvation. We in no way condone what’s been done. We ask God for justice to take place.

Boy Scouts – A lesser known story, yet possibly just as important is that of the Boy Scouts of America voting on whether to allow “homosexual” members into their ranks, and possibly even homosexual leaders.

Time Ideas has been following the recent issues and has released a few articles –

The end of the world – This past weekend my church, Range Community Bible Church, hosted a speaker named Dr. Dan Hayden to do a 4 part series on end times prophecy and how current events are fitting with Biblical prophecy. While I didn’t agree with everything he said, I did appreciate his closing exhortation to proclaim the gospel despite the fact that the times are evil.

In his last message he walked us through 2 Timothy 3 and the moral decline that will happen in the last days. His point was that we are living in a state of moral decline. We are living in an “evil” time period.

As Christians, when we think of Abortionists, Bombers, the openly homosexual, we should see human beings that God created. We should see people who sin just like us. We should see people who need a savior and don’t know how much God loves them.

Not only that though, in our declining moral culture we should look more and more to the cross for our own forgiveness and for strength, not to just make it through, but to tell people about Jesus.

What a difference it would make if Kermit Gosnell knew Jesus? What a difference it would make if Tamerlan Tsarnaev and Dzhokhar Tsarnaev knew Jesus? If the leaders of the BSA and those who are openly homosexual knew Jesus?

Who will tell them? Is it me? It is you? We should all be living like the end is tomorrow. We should all be telling people the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ like they are dying.

I try and live as one who takes the Bible literally. With that said I believe Christ will come back one day soon and I don't want to be doing anything He wouldn't want me to do...
